Hi all,
Firstly, my apologies for the delay in adding to the blog! Personally, it has been a crazy few weeks that have flown by way too quickly (which seems to the the story of my life!).
Anyhow, just wanted to give a quick update. We are shortly going to change the site to make it bigger and much better than it's present form. It's funny, but sometimes the more that you sit back, think and analyse a concept, the clearer the picture and direction you should take becomes.
Pixel advertising is still very much in its infancy, but there are some positive maturities starting to show through in the sort of sites that are now starting to come to the fore. It is with this in mind that we shortly make our own changes for a much more robust and longer lasting (read: much better value for both advertiser and visitor) site to better serve our advertisers and visitors over the long terrm. I will keep you updated as things progress...

Hi all,
I know it has been a few days since posting, but it has been a busy time. I wasn't happy with the original logo title, so had a quick little play around the other day and changed the look a bit. Hope you like it better.
Anyhow, we have quite a number of new ads on board, and I am excited that we are starting to display quite a variety of products and services to do with travel and tourism! Keep your orders coming, because the earlier you can get in, the better position you will be able to obtain, and the more exposure you will get for your business as the site ramps up even more. Don't forget, we now accept Paypal, Check / Money Order and you can even use your trade dollars and pay via Bartercard.
On another note, if you want to keep a track of how the site is doing, you are welcome to visit our "Link to Us" page and grab a couple of links that we have made available for you. We are still working on our affiliate program, and should also have news on that for your shortly.

We have now added the option of paying for your pixels via Bartercard. This may actually be the first time that anyone has added the option of accepting Bartercard for a "million dollar" type of site, so maybe we are setting another world first!
Spend the last 2 nights working, and only got 2 hours sleep last night due to getting to bed at 2am and then looking after Jessica (she's 16 months) after she woke up at 2.45am and didn't get back to sleep until 5.30am, then my wife went to work at 7.30am, and I had the luxury of sleeping another 1/2 hour until Jessica woke up again.. Ahh the life of a part time worker, part time dad, and home business owner.... there are just never enough hours in the day!

Hi all. Submitted our first press release last night, which should be distributed on Sunday (US time - we are just way ahead here in Australia!). Spent all day working on it yesterday, so hopefully it should do the job. We'll see what happens...
Next thing is to add Bartercard as a payment option, which should be done in the next few days.
A couple more ads appearing over the last couple of days - Kumuka, which is a great operator of tours & adventure tours worldwide, and of course we had to chuck in a couple of our own sites as well!!

| An Interesting Letter.. |

Received an interesting letter in the mail today. It is from a "Strategic Capital" company who are expressing an interest in my business, Accom.Com.Au Pty Ltd.
The letter says in part, "We are impressed by the operations of Accom.Com.Au and we see some exciting prospects ahead for your company and belive that you are well positoined for further growth in the online travel market."
Don't know whether these guys are genuine or just trying to butter me up for their own financial gain, but nice to know that I am heading in the right way with the business enough to be noticed! We will see what happens with any follow up from these guys and I will keep you posted..
On another note, I am working on a press release for the Ten Mil $ Travel Page to get things going properly, but I find that writing a good press release is hard work! Also submitted the site to quite a few of the major search engines, so things are starting to happen.

| Our First Ad Now Online! |

We have a number of ads lined up to go live on the site, but the first one is for Dreamworld on Australia's Gold Coast. Home of Big Brother, Dreamworld is Australia's largest theme park, home to awesome thrill rides, Nick Central, Tiger Island, native wildlife, Wiggles World and more! Check them out online.
On more of a site maintenance note, we have now added Terms & Conditions to the site (it's more of a guide to how the site works really), and are working on our press release this afternoon, which should hopefully be out early next week to really get things kicking.

Getting close to launch now, but I was driving the taxi last night and thinking through the site (as you do) - how to make it a bit better, give it a little more dynamism. Thinking so much that I missed a turnoff over the Harbour Bridge and had to apologise profusely to my passenger as I doubled back to his destination...
Anyhow, I have decided to add the option for "short term" ads, which allows for the placement of 30-day duration pixel ads at only $.75 per pixel. I have kept these spaces fairly limited (only two small areas available for short term advertising, each containing only 288 blocks), so it will be first come, first served.
The travel and tourism industry is a very dynamic one - there always seems to be a new deal or special out in the market, so this is a pretty good way for operators to place a limited duration ad and link it to a specific URL for their particular deal special. I figure this will keep the site dynamic, as the ads would be constantly be changing as new deals are placed and replaced.
Have the day home tomorrow, so will try and get the release together and start launching the site. It's getting exciting!

Ahh - all fixed. I found this neat little news / blog software from Reamday enterprises that does exactly what I need with a minimum of fuss! Free, so easy to install and use, so I dont mind their link at the bottom of the page!

| Ready For Take-Off! |

Hi! We are almost ready to go with the TenMillionDollarTravelPage, which I am quite excited about!. It has been a hectic few days putting it all together, but we are almost there. I am hoping to have everything in place over the next few days, and anticipate to start getting the word out in the press by the beginning of February, which should really get the ball rolling.
There are already a few advertisers lined up, and hopefully our first ads should start appearing soon. Apart from that, there are just a few more finishing touches we need to make to the site in the next few days. I have taxi duty tomorrow and the next day, which always knocks me around a bit, but should be able to complete things in time for “takeoff” on the 1st of February. Woo hoo!!
On a “future enhancement” note - we are hoping to shortly incorporate Bartercard as a payment option, and are looking at exploring the possibility of incorporating an affiliate program into the site as well.
Anyhow, that’s enough raving for a first entry. Will keep you updated as things progress…
