Anyone will tell you that starting any small business from scratch is hard, but nurturing a new company from home while my wife has been at work as a teacher and I have been playing Daddy Daycare to the girls has made for an especially challenging few years! Oh yes, on top of that I have also been driving a Taxi for a couple of days a week to keep the cashflow coming into the household whilst the income from the business is re-invested into the company.
Why a Ten Million Dollar Travel Page? Inspired by Alex Lew's hugely successful Million Dollar Homepage, the Ten Million Dollar Travel Page is a pixel advertising home page, designed and targeted specifically for promoting Travel & Tourism businesses. The concept for the Ten Million Dollar Travel Page really came out of the need to raise funds to get our own business off the ground. The difference here is that the Ten Million Dollar Travel Page site is highly targeted - all ads are travel and/or tourism related (an industry I have a comprehensive understanding of), resulting in a high profile and highly targeted advertising page which provides advertisers with quality traffic. The Ten Million Dollar Travel page is one of the most highly targeted Web pages on the Internet for the Travel & Tourism industry, and will provide potentially millions of visitors per day that will want to check the site out just to see what it's all about. Anyone who has purchased space on the Ten Million Dollar Travel Page has the opportunity to receive thousands of targeted visitors over many years to come. Viral marketing at its best! Where will the money go? It takes a lot of time, effort, and money to get a business off the ground (as anyone who has tried it would know). My business plan is to use the funds raised to initially help relieve some of the pressure and really get the company off the ground and moving forward on a new level. The funds raised from the Ten Million Dollar Travel page will be used to further expand our young company:- to fund the redevelopment of our popular Australian travel guide, FrogandToad, which is in dire need of a major overhaul (currently there's over 5000 individual html pages to work through!); to provide the funds to market and develop our new highly targeted online Travel & Tourism directory / advertising portal site, ACAu TravelSearch (which is due to be launched in mid 2006); to put more resources into hiring additional personnel; to initialise a pilot program and feasibility study into future franchising opportunites for the business, and to generally market, advertise and grow our business on a different level. Having said all that, ten million dollars is admittedly a lot of cash, but you don't achieve if you don't try... Should our needs be oversubscribed, it is my intention to use some of the funds raised towards helping those in need through various charitable organisations such as World Vision, the Red Cross, the Starlight Foundation and others.

Firstly,
let me introduce myself. My name is Matt Halloran. I am
actually a (I almost hate to admit it) middle aged Aussie
guy - a husband and dad with 2 young girls, located in
Sydney, Australia. I own a growing online travel based

and services designed to service the industry, but I am
constrained with time, personnel and finance to be able to
effectively bring it to market and establish its
presence.
